Hello my name is Victorya, and my topic is writing a novella. This week has been going good there was no struggles that I had while writing my novella. I accomplished making adding more detail and added adjectives to make my writing sound more fun. I had my stepdad help me reread my novella a couple times to make sure I had no silly mistakes while writing. He helped me catch some mistakes. For him it was easy to catch mistakes because when reading your own writing it looks to you that’s there isn’t no mistakes but there really are some. Me and him watched videos from authors that taught us how to make your writing better. Next week I am going to be adding new characters to my story and a little more dialogue that is my goals for next week. Thank you for reading my blog and I hope I see you next week goodbye!

Over spring break me, my mom, my stepdad, and my little brother went to Temecula and we stayed there for two days. The first day we had gone to two winery’s for my mom and my stepdad. We ate pizza and this bread that was filled with cheese and shaped like a bowl. Late that day we went to our hotel and got into the pool, the water ended up being really cold so I only put my feet in. The next morning we went to eat at Denny’s and then after we ate we went to a trampoline house. The trampoline was like an obstacle course one, it didn’t have that much trampolines to be honest but it was really fun overall.

Hi my name is Victorya and for my 20% project I choose to write a short story(novella). My goal for week 1 I had chosen to add more description to my characters so that when people would read my novella they would be able to visualize it perfectly fine and revise mistakes that I hadn’t noticed before and that I needed to change for my story to make more sense and make it look more professional. I achieved that goal because I did have enough time to add more description to all my characters like how sound when they talk or how their hair moves when the wind blows through their hair or how their face changes expressions when they are speaking with anther character. I also had time to revise the little mistakes in my novella like missing periods, commas, capitalizing my “I”s, where to begin new paragraphs and where to end my sentences and not keep them going on forever and ever.

The three people I would invite to a dinner that I would be hosting are, my cousins Mitsy and Kassy, and my best friend Val. I would invite my cousin Kassy because she’s so funny and would lighten up the mood if it ever gets quiet. My other cousin Mitsy I would invite her because you can’t just invite one you have the invite the other as well. She is also very kind and sweet. I would invite Val my best friend because she is so funny and I think that her and my cousins would get along. We would go out and eat at wing stop.

If I could have any job in the entire universe, it would be a woman wardrobe stylist. I would like to be this because I enjoy choosing out outfits for women to wear. I wouldn’t make the clothing but I would set it up for how they should wear it and how they can style it. I would select their clothing and accessories for any specific scene or character. Most wardrobe stylist work for movie or show sets, modeling agencies, and fashion designers.

I am invisible! The first two things I would do if I was invisible is I would go to a pet smart and play with all the animals. I would let all the animals out except the snakes, crickets, and the spiders. If I did do this when I’m invisible I would do it at night and only at night. I would play with the cats all night and give them the snacks and food they have there.

I have been living on a deserted island for six months. No one has come searching for me in these past months six months I been here. I think I’m in Mexico. Six months ago before I got deserted on this island. I was getting deported from America because I have no papers. My cousin in Mexico said that he could find a way for me back into America. So me and him flew out on his plane. Somehow he forgot to mention that his plane engine wasn’t quite working and that he barely had any gas. Then from the wing of the plane black smoke started to come out. The plane started to bounce and then the plane just dropped down into the water. The crash was bad. My cousin didn’t make it. He doesn’t know how to swim, he drowned from the impact of the crash underwater. I get nostalgic every once in a while when I’m stuck in my mind thinking about memories. Sometimes I wake up around 5:30am when the sun is rising and remember about the times and when I used to wake up from to the scent of my grandmas cooking. My regular schedule which is Mondays and Thursday-Sundays. I wake up when the sun is rising which is usually around 5:30am to 6:30am, then I go for my usual jog in the morning. I run about 10 miles every week. After my jog I go for a swim in the clear shallow water, I swim about 2 hours then I go get my stick to catch fishes for my lunch and dinner. After that I take a nap which is about an hour or more. By now it is usually 5pm or 6pm, The sun should be setting by now which means that the birds usually are in the trees and you can hear them chirping. I grab leaves from the trees and set them down onto the sand to build a little resting area. I grab bark and wood and start a fireplace. Then I fall asleep.

Recently I watched a movie called the Society Of The Snow. The Society Of The Snow is a true story, it takes place in 1972 on an Uruguayan Air Force on flight 571. It was a rugby team and there was 45 passengers. They crashed in the middle of the Andre’s mountains between South America, crossing Chile, Venezuela, and Peru. Multiple passengers got injured and died. Most flew out of the plane when it broke apart because of the air pressure. A lot had been crushed from suitcases falling on them, arms and legs broke. There had been a search team for them but they had stopped looking for them on the tenth day. They had to survive in the freezing weather for 4 more months. Out of the 45 passengers in the end only 16 made it out alive. The movie is really depressing and devastating.

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” I relate to this quote from Dumbledore because from what i think it means is that a person or pet can become so important that they light up your day. When I would be feeling down or upset my cats would come to me and cuddle with me until I would feel better. My cats somehow know when I become upset and stay with me, it’s like in a way they are comforting mentally.

This month I read You’d Be Home Now by Kathleen Glasgow. This book is about two siblings, one is a drug addict that knows he will never survive without drugs(joey) and the other can’t seem to figure who they want to be because she is always living in the shadows of her siblings(Emory/emmy). They have an older sister named Maddie that is a freshman in college, she is the popular older pretty sister. . Everybody knows Maddie and joey but they barely know Emmy. People never really cared to get to know Emmy, she wasn’t the type of person that “amazed” people. Maddie was apart of a dance team in their high school that Emmy is now apart of. In the beginning of this book Emmys brother Joey goes to rehab for summer break to help him get better for the upcoming year for high school. During summer Emmy, Joey, and Joey’s friend Luther went to a party. Emmy saw a girl crying and asked if she was okay, so then the girl(Candy) asked Emmy if she could give her a ride. Emmy went looking for her brother Joey all around the house and could not find him, so she then starts looking for Luther and ends up finding him in the restroom, hooking up with a girl. She asks Luther if he knows where her brother is, he says he doesn’t know but will help her find Joey. They find Joey in a bedroom with a girl. Joey doesn’t look too good. Emmy notices that Joey is on drugs right away. Luther says that Joey won’t be able to drive because of what Luther gave him. Luther gave Joey heroin. Emmy asked Luther what he gave Joey but he wouldn’t answer, Luther was high and drunk at the same time. Emmy was scared to let Luther drive but he looked better than Joey did so she ended up letting him drive. They all got into the car, Emmy, Joey, Luther, and Candy. Luther had been driving really fast and wild and It was snowing at the time, really really hard. Luther and Emmy were in the front seats and Joey and candy were in the backseats. Candy was crying and screaming telling Luther to stop driving but he wouldn’t stop he just kept driving faster. Luther was yelling at Emmy to tell Candy to stop yelling at him. Joey ended up passing out next to Candy. Candy got even more scared, she started pinching Joey to wake up, slapping him, everything she could do but he wouldn’t wake up. Emmy started to get scared but Luther wouldn’t stop driving. Sooner or later they crashed. They crashed really bad, they rolled over and over again till the car just stayed upside down. Luther flew out the window, Emmy broke her leg. Joey was passed out. Candy died. That night had impacted all three of them. When Emmy and Joeys parents found out that Joey overdose. They sent him to rehab.
This book is really heavy and draining but I really liked it and enjoyed reading it because of how intense it can be. My favorite character in the book is Emmy because she is really brave mentally and physically, she goes through a lot and I love how towards the end of the book she learns how to defend herself and how she sets boundaries for herself. “The thing about being invisible is, you’d think it would feel light and airy and easy, no pressure, but it doesn’t. It’s the heaviest thing I’ve ever known.” I really felt this quote because it is the realest thing I have ever read. It is so true and I hate that it is so true. That is one of my favorite quotes in that book.
